July 7th, 2016 was a heartbreaking day for Dallas, Texas. It is a day when peaceful protests were interrupted by violence that took the lives of five police officers. They were fathers. They were parents. They were husbands. They were defenders of the city of Dallas and will now forever live in our hearts.
Zak Chaouki, founder, and president of The Dallas Strong Music Festival watched as these events unfolded and knew that something needed to be done in memory of those who were lost as well as for the people of Dallas.
This idea has since expanded into a Dallas music festival built on lifting the hopes of Dallas residents and supporting children and families across the nation who’ve lost loved ones in the line of duty.
